I was born in Denver, Colorado and have moved several times throughout my childhood, eventually landing in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I met my husband, Dave, while in college. We have been married since 2004. We welcomed our son, Noah, in 2009 and then were blessed again in 2011 with our daughter, Macy. Both kids have attended Central Christian School since kindergarten which is also when I began volunteering here. As a stay at home mom, I’ve always felt called to be where my children are and since they are both in school full time, I have felt led to be here as well. Over the years, I have volunteered in lots of ways, and have loved taking on the challenge of computer teacher this year. Along with volunteering and teaching, I also love to spend time with my family and friends, create things, and take weekend road trips.

I studied at Taylor University in Fort Wayne where I received my bachelor’s degree in Christian Education. Straight out of college I worked in a child care setting for a couple years before moving on to a position providing one on one home visitation for “at risk” families with young children. Following my love of teaching, at that time I also earned my early childhood development certificate. Seven years later, I chose to be a stay at home mom with my then toddlers until God led me to where I am today.

This is my 9th year here at CCS as a volunteer and I am so excited to have a teaching position here this year! The computer teacher position has been such a fun challenge and so rewarding. I love that I get to spend time every week with all ages at our school and to watch the students reach those “ah-ha” moments throughout my lessons. The thing I love most about CCS is the ability to openly talk about and praise God. It is such a blessing to be able to teach students, to talk through tough situations, and to build those bridges with our students, all from a Christian perspective with the love of Jesus at the core. I also love my co-workers! The teachers at this school give so much of themselves to our students and you can clearly see their love for Christ in everything they do. As a parent, and now as a staff member, my family and I have been incredibly blessed and are so thankful for these teachers.

I was blessed to grow up in Christian home where I prayed with my parents at an early age to accept Christ into my life. My relationship with God became more real later in high school and in college as I began to grow and make that relationship personal and my own. Over the years, I have had some challenges in my life, but with each challenge God has pulled me closer to him. God has blessed me in so many ways and I am so thankful for where he has led me and my family. His love never fails.
