CCS Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) Mission Statement

Through prayer and service to our loving God, the purpose of the PTO is to enhance and support the educational experience at Central Christian School to develop a closer connection between school and home by encouraging parent involvement, and to improve the environment at Central Christian School through volunteer and financial support.

If you are a parent or guardian of a child of Central Christian School, you are a CCS PTO member. The CCS PTO is a committee of Central Christian School. The CCS PTO is not a part of PTA which is formally affiliated with the state's PTA organization and the National PTA.

PTO Activities:
  • Learning Labs: Parent Workshops
This is a time where parents share a talent and/or lead the students in something that they normally wouldn’t do during class.
  • Learning Labs: Love Thy Neighbor
“Walk a Mile in My Shoes”
Students learn about other cultures & differences in people to teach empathy.
  • Family Fun Night An evening for family to have fun, meet, and get to know other CCS families.
  • Grandparents Day
Grandparents Day is a community event. This special day offers grandparents a chance to catch a glimpse of their grandchild’s daily life, meet his or her classmates and teachers, and for a grandchild to show his grandparents to peers and teachers.
  • Learning Labs: Creation
An entire day is devoted to experiencing God’s creation at the Gatchell Farm in Autumn. The students become mini-explorers for the day hiking the outdoors, treasure hunting in God’s creation, asking questions, making observations, playing, special guests, and more!
  • Book Fair
CCS partners with Scholastic to bring books to purchase with a portion of the profits going to the school library.
  • Craft Show
The CCS Craft Show is a fundraiser benefiting the school PTO events listed in this newsletter. Volunteer to help with set-up and tear-down the event.
  • Thanksgiving Feast
Every year, CCS parents offer a Thanksgiving Feast to all of the students and staff at Central Christian. There are many volunteer opportunities such as; cooking, serving food, setting up and clean up.
  • Christmas Shop
This is a time for kids to purchase already wrapped presents for their family and friends. This is a fun event for the children because they will get to pick out a special gift to give away. A percent of the profits will be given to the school.
  • Father Daughter Dance
This event is a special night for fathers and daughters. Daughters may be escorted by Dad, Grandpa, Uncle or any other special father figure. This is a catered event with a DJ and photo booth.
  • Auction and Fish Fry
This is Central Christian School's biggest event of the year to raise funds to help with various areas of the school! It all begins with a silent auction and all-you-can eat fish fry followed by a live professional auctioneer. Volunteer to help; cooking, serving food, set-up, clean-up, selling tickets, helping with the silent auction and more.
  • Mother Son Laser Tag
A time for sons to spend time with their mother, grandmother, aunt or any other special mother figure.
  • Teacher Appreciation Week
Every year we want to help our teachers feel valued, appreciated and supported as much as we can. A simple way we do that is take the first week of May to say 'thank you' by showering our teachers with special treats and gifts. We also have parents bring in meals during the week.
  • Field Day
The CCS student council coordinates fun outdoor games for the entire school. Parents come volunteer help oversee the games, help with special treats and clean-up at the end of the event.
  • Pizza Friday
Every Friday during lunch pizza will be offered to the students. We need parents to volunteer during the lunch hour to help pass out pizza and make sure the lunch room is clean.
  • Lunch/Recess Volunteers
We need volunteers willing to help with lunch and recess duty for the entire school year. Lunch duty entails helping students open packages and sanitizing tables. Recess duty involves helping students play kindly and safely.
